Priya Parker is helping us take a deeper look at how anyone can create collective meaning in modern life, one gathering at a time. She is a master facilitator, strategic advisor, acclaimed author of The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why it Matters, and executive producer and host of the New York Times podcast, Together Apart. Parker has spent 15 years helping leaders and communities have complicated conversations about community and identity and vision at moments of transition. Trained in the field of conflict resolution, Parker has worked on race relations on American college campuses and on peace
processes in the Arab world, southern Africa, and India. Parker is a founding member of the Sustained Dialogue Campus Network, a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Values Council and the New Models of Leadership, and a Senior Expert at Mobius Executive Leadership. She studied organizational design at M.I.T., public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and political and social thought at the University of Virginia. Parker’s The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters (Riverhead, 2018) has been named a Best Business Book of the year by Amazon, Esquire Magazine, NPR, the Financial Times, 1-800-CEO-READS and Bloomberg. She has spoken on the TED Main Stage, and her TEDx talk on purpose has been viewed over 1 million times. Parker’s work has been featured in numerous outlets including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, NPR, TED.com, Forbes.com, Real Simple Magazine, Oprah.com, Bloomberg, Glamour, the Today Show and Morning Joe. Susan Robertson is the President & CEO of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She oversees all strategic and operational aspects of the ASAE, ASAE Research Foundation, and its for-profit subsidiary, ASAE Business Solutions. During her 19 years with ASAE, she has consistently held senior leadership positions and is a spokesperson for the association profession and the Power of Associations. Prior to joining ASAE, Ms. Robertson was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for U.S. Office Products, a DC-based multi-billion-dollar business products company. During her career as an association marketing and program development professional, she held positions with the National Office Products Association, and the National Dealer Alliance, where she was the Executive Director. Prior to her association work, she worked for Ethan Allen, Inc. at its international headquarters as a trainer and program developer.

Christy Hutton

Christy Hutton, PhD is a psychologist with 13 years of experience working in college mental health. Dr. Hutton earned her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri. In the early years of her career Dr. Hutton enjoyed serving clients in both community mental health and private practice before joining the staff at the MU Counseling Center. Dr. Hutton has a strong passion for not only student well-being, but also supporting the well-being of faculty and staff through wellness programs, workshops, and mindfulness practice. Dr. Hutton currently serves as the Director of the Wellness Resource Center at Mizzou. Her work continues to focus on promoting skills and habits for achieving and maintaining well-being and preventing behaviors that negatively impact well-being. Dr. Hutton has a 20 year mindfulness practice and taught yoga for a number of years. Yoga and mindfulness remain the cornerstone of her own self-care and Dr. Hutton believes that these practices can be incorporated into the academic environment in many ways to support learning, engagement, self-care and the overall well-being of a campus community.

Anne Brackett and Alicia Wojciuch are the co-founders of Strengths University, Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, and seasoned Higher Education supervisors. Through Strengths University, they focus on training and coaching supervisors who work in Higher Education so they can become more confident, more effective, and less stressed.
Anne worked in Residence Life for 20 years until she left campus in 2017 to serve as the Chief Engagement Officer of Strengths University. Anne has a Master’s Degree in Education with a Student Affairs emphasis from Texas Tech University. Alicia has worked in Higher Education for 10 years in a variety of areas – Residence Life, Disability Services, and Academic Support. She is currently a Lead Life Coach at Maryville University and the Chief Education Officer of Strengths University. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from UMSL.
