CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Call for Proposals Closed

Call for proposals for MCCA's 54th Annual Convention is now closed. If your proposal has been selected, you will be notified in August 2018.

Present at Mcca's 2018 Convention

MCCA welcomes proposals from diverse groups of professionals to include administrators, faculty, advisors, counselors, career development specialists, researchers, and others connected to the field of higher education. Novice as well as experienced presenters are encouraged to submit a proposal.

Presenting at the MCCA Annual Convention provides an opportunity to build your professional network and learn, reflect, and engage with colleagues. Presenting a content-rich session as an individual or a team is a wonderful way to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas. The meeting program will showcase future directions, best practices, stories of successful collaborations, or solutions to community-wide issues. We also welcome exhibitor proposals that demonstrate noncommercial uses of technology to transform education.

Session Delivery

The convention team encourages you to consider a presentation format that will engage your colleagues in discussion and learning beyond the simple dissemination of information. Sessions may follow one of these formats, or you may suggest an alternative format.

  • Lecture Format: A presentation by one or more presenters; discussion time for questions and answers is encouraged. The length of time set aside for discussion is at the discretion of the presenter(s).
  • Fireside Chat: An informal conversation between a moderator and their guest.
  • Campfire: The facilitator introduces a topic and then drives the discussion but not content itself. The content is created by the discussion in real-time. This format represents an excellent place for attendees to learn from their peers through sharing their own experiences. As a bonus, this interactive peer-to-peer format is also an excellent opportunity for delegates to build new connections.

Proposal Evaluation Criteria

Basis of proposal evaluation:
  • Timeliness of the subject matter
  • Topic's contribution to field
  • Clearly stated purpose and objectives
  • Creativity in an approach to a situation or in ways to manage it
  • Adaptability of ideas to a variety of institutional settings
  • Reflective of good writing practices

Priority will be assigned to proposals that demonstrate new ideas or methods, or indicate a high level of knowledge and unique treatment of the topic. Proposals from inexperienced, as well as experienced presenters, researchers, and practitioners are earnestly solicited.

Why Present?

  • Gain exposure and showcase your innovative practices.
  • Showcase an emerging technology and demonstrate its potential value.
  • Share successful classroom practices, innovative teaching and learning solutions, current and relevant research, and/or new or innovative products that show emerging promise for Missouri's educational communities.
  • Make MCCA's 2018 Annual Convention the must-attend event for higher education professionals in Missouri!

All accepted presenters are responsible for registering for convention, paying the registration fee, and securing and paying for travel and lodging.
