The MCCA Annual Recognition and Excellence Awards program is dedicated to recognizing individuals and institutions that have set the standard of excellence during the year. Receiving an MCCA award is a great way to gain recognition, not only within the higher education industry, but at your institution and across the state. By recognizing outstanding service in ourselves and others, we bring prestige to our profession and our institutional roles.
Please note that changes have been made to this year's awards structure. You may nominate an individual or organization in the following categories.

Nomination Guide
To assist you in submitting a nomination, we have outlined of the general guidelines and content within the submission form below. This will help you collect all of the pertinent information needed before making a formal submission. Please note that each award has different terms of eligibility. Nomination Components
Presentation of the Award
- Nominators are encouraged to consider a diverse set of nominees.
- Most nominees are individuals, but teams may be nominated in some cases, especially for collaborative work.
- Individuals may be nominated for more than one award, but please do not nominate a person or team for the same work or achievements for which they have already received an award in the past.
Nomination Review, Selection and Notification
- To be considered, all nominations must be received by Tuesday, May 31, 2022, by 11:59 p.m. (CST). After the nomination deadline, the MCCA Advisory Board will begin the review and selection process.
- MCCA will verify the nominations eligibility and reserves the right not to select any recipients for a particular year if the evaluations performed indicate that nominations do not meet the stated criteria and award rigor.
- The nominations, evaluation process, and scores are proprietary to MCCA and will not be disclosed to nominators or nominees.
- After selections are approved, the recipient, their nominator, college president or chancellor and executive assistant will receive a notification from MCCA. MCCA will announce the award recipients on the convention website.
Nomination Components
- Please include the nominee’s name, job title, and organization as well as a short description (approximately 300 words maximum) describing the nominee's service, achievement, and/or outstanding contribution(s) in the light of the particular features of the award.
- All submitted material must be in English. Any additional documentation in alternate media formats, such as multimedia, will not be evaluated.
- Once a proposal is submitted, it cannot be edited.
- You must complete all required items of this nomination. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Presentation of the Award
- Awards will be presented November 29 - December 1, 2022, at the MCCA Annual Convention and Tradeshow.
- Award recipients will be presented a trophy or plaque and publicized through MCCA communication channels and external media after the presentation of the award.
