To assist you in making preparations to submit a nomination for the MCCA Annual Recognition and Excellence Awards program, we are pleased to provide you with an outline of the content within the form. This will assist you in collecting all of the pertinent information needed before making a formal submission. Please note, each award has different terms of eligibility. Nominees who do not meet the specified terms of award will be disqualified.

Eligibility to be Nominated
- Nominators are expected to think about a diverse set of nominations.
- Most nominees are individuals, but in some cases teams may be nominated, especially collaborations.
- A MCCA award recipient may be nominated for more than one MCCA award. Please do not nominate a person or team for the same work or achievements for which they have already received a MCCA Annual Recognition and Excellence Award.
Nomination Components
- Eligibility differs for each award. MCCA membership may or may not be required for a nominee. For additional information, refer to each individual award guidelines.
- The nominee’s name, job title, and organization.
- A description (2,000 character limit) describing the nominee's service, achievement, and/or outstanding contribution(s) in the light of the particular features of the award. All submitted material must be in English. Any additional documentation in alternate media formats, such as multimedia, will not be evaluated.
- You must complete all required items of this nomination. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Once a proposal is submitted, it cannot be edited.
- The number of recipients differs for each award. MCCA reserves the right not to select any recipients for a particular year if the evaluations performed indicate that nominations do not meet the stated criteria and award rigor.
Nomination Review, Selection, and Notification
- After the nomination deadline, the MCCA Advisory Board will begin their review and selection process.
- MCCA staff will verify the nominations eligibility.
- The nominations, evaluation process, and scores are proprietary to MCCA and will not be disclosed to nominators or nominees.
- After selections are approved, the recipient, their nominator, and the college president or chancellor and their executive assistant will receive a notification from MCCA. MCCA will announce the award recipients on the MCCA Annual Convention website.
Presentation of the Award
- The MCCA Annual Recognition and Excellence Awards are presented at the MCCA Annual Convention in November.
- The award recipients will be presented a trophy or plaque. No cash awards are offered.
- The award recipient will be publicized through MCCA communication channels and external media after the presentation of the award.
